PLDT accelerates fibre rollout with ‘Fibr City’ programme

PLDT Inc. has revealed it is ramping up its ongoing fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) rollout programme in the country’s cities and towns, with the announcement of a new ‘Fibr City’ project in Toledo City, in Cebu province. Under the plan, which is being carried out in partnership with the municipal government, residential users and businesses will be given access to FTTx connectivity to support the area’s mining industry and burgeoning tourism sector. ‘Fitted with the country’s most powerful broadband, Toledo City will now have access to fibre-fast internet speeds of as much as one Gigabit per second,’ said the carrier’s Head of Home Business Oscar Reyes…
