Epsilon rolls out fiber in Singapore

Source: September 02, 2015, Epsilon has rolled out new fiber infrastructure in Singapore to strengthen its local reach for its cloud and communication service provider customers across Asia-Pacific. FTTx market hits record levels with China deployments

New FTTH player on Atlantic seaboard

Source: 5th June 2015   Cape Town has a new fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) provider. Octotel, founded by entrepreneurs Joe Botha and Michael Pollock, plans to provide broadband access at speeds of up to 1Gbit/s, starting in the upmarket Atlantic seaboard suburbs of Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Mouille Point, Three Anchor Bay, Green Point and Fresnaye.   Prices will start at R499/month for a 10Mbit/s line, including the line fee and Internet service provider charges

IEEE ponders WDM-PON, 25G PON for next generation EPON

China’s MIIT Sets FTTH, 4G Targets For 2015

Source: May 11, 2015,   China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has set a target of 200 million new 4G subscribers and 40 million new fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) users by end-2015, Sina Tech reports.   Planned expansion of fixed broadband infrastructure is expected to see fibre coverage extended to 80 million new families, whilst mobile operators are expected to roll out 600,000 new 4G-enabled base stations by the end of the year. &
