FTTx market hits record levels with China deployments

China’s MIIT Sets FTTH, 4G Targets For 2015

Source: telecomist.com May 11, 2015,   China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has set a target of 200 million new 4G subscribers and 40 million new fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) users by end-2015, Sina Tech reports.   Planned expansion of fixed broadband infrastructure is expected to see fibre coverage extended to 80 million new families, whilst mobile operators are expected to roll out 600,000 new 4G-enabled base stations by the end of the year. &

Huawei, HKT to launch 10-Gbps FTTH service

The agreement will allow HKT to provide 10-Gbps to broadband customers in Hong Kong.
